Philadelphia, PA - March 4, 2017 - In a ceremony during the Starfinder Cup - the marquee yearly charity indoor soccer tournament organized by the Starfinder Foundation - ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø announced today a $50,000 donation to the organization.
In his remarks today during the check presentation to Starfinder Foundation's Executive Director, Heidi Warren, Nick Sprague, the Vice President of Legal & External Affairs for ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø America stated: "On behalf of the over 250 ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø team members in the Philadelphia area, we want to express how grateful we are to the Starfinder Foundation and the incredible work that you do in developing lifelong learners and leaders among our youth. We are humbled to partner with such an impactful organization."
In accepting the donation, Heidi Warren said: "We are thrilled to receive ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø's support and so impressed by the leadership they have shown in supporting youth, especially girls. This gift is so much more than a check. It is an investment in our girls and in all our youth. With ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø's help, we can give our kids the support they need to achieve lives of distinction."
ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø's donation, along with the time ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø America team members are volunteering to the organization, is helping Starfinder expand the support of its Senior Leaders Girls Program, invest in curriculum and coach-mentor training and support other special opportunities like college visits, community service projects and college counseling.
ABOUT THE STARFINDER FOUNDATION
Starfinder Foundation is a sports-based youth development organization. Using soccer to engage low income youth, we level the playing field by giving their bodies, brains, and budding leadership skills the exercise they need to grow strong and healthy. Starfinder's mission is to enhance the personal growth of underserved youth through soccer and learning experiences that engage, inspire, and motivate.
Since its founding in 2002, Starfinder's programs have equipped over 9,000 youth from underserved communities with the tools they need to achieve success both on and off the field. Soccer is the hook; success in school, in the community, and in the pursuit of higher education is the goal.
